We are just over a week away from fall break so hang in there! And something to look forward to the week after the break is our Fall General Membership Meeting. This is a chance to build community with your colleagues, hear from your union leaders, and share your input. The Fall General Membership Meeting is Thursday, October 16 at 5:00pm in the PAIS Building (starting with dinner in the lobby) and followed by a Happy Hour from 7:00-8:00pm at Flock of Moons (only 1 block away)! A Zoom option will be available. RSVP here!
We held our first successful Steward Council meeting last Tuesday and are excited to continue building power across all UNM campuses! Stewards are a union’s first line of defense and are the backbone of our organization. If you are interested in being a UA-UNM steward, please fill out this form.
UA-UNM is a member of Unified COPE (Committee on Political Education), which includes the Albuquerque Teachers Federation (ATF), Albuquerque Federation of Classified Professionals (AFCP), UA-UNM, and the AFT NM Retirees unions. As part of Unified COPE, we have endorsed a number of pro-union, pro-teacher, pro-public education candidates for Albuquerque Public Schools (APS) School Board. These include: Rebecca Betzen (District 3), Kristin Wood-Hegner (District 7), and our very own UA-UNM member, Warigia Bowman (District 6)! You can learn more about our endorsed candidates here.
